Break some freakin' stuff

I have seen and watched many people in a fit of rage. Most of them actually resort to violence to let out the build up of stress in their chests. This is not about someone actually assualting someone just to let off but more about those that actually manage to channel their anger towards an object. Although destructive - it is effective.

Some psychologists actually claim that smashing breakables such as plates and glass ware releases the build up of tension. Subjects who have undergone this quasi-experiment attest to it's liberating and even therapuetic effect. In fact, this is a growing practice among the business people in Japan. They actually have this so called The Venting Place where, at a price, they let you smash ceramic or glass plates against a wall. Now that's a responsible way to be destructive.

Plate smashing has also become a part of the daily business in a certain restaurant in the Philippines. Those who have experienced it claimed that it does not only aid anger management but it is also fun.

Going back to the people I've witnessed releasing their anger. Although most of them would rather kill a chair, a door or anything that happened to be in front of them at that time, well we all should know that it's not practical. Once the anger wanes and calmness takes over, so does the reality that you will have to spend money to fix whatever you destroyed. Sooo...

Give it a go and see what happens. Create your own Venting Corner somewhere but be sure not to show it to children and have those worthless appliances ready to meet the wrath of the baseball bat. Just don't overdo it.
