What is stress?

Before you try something fun to relieve stress, you have to figure out where it’s coming from. First, we need to figure out what stress really is.

Stress is caused by any outside factor that is commonly considered to adversely affect an individual. It is pretty much a natural reaction of the body or the mind to a stimulus which initiates physical, psychological or emotional interchange. Some experts claim that stress does not always have negative implications. They furthered that reaction to stress is one of the many determinants for survival.

According to an article published by Medicinet, "In general, stress is related to both external and internal factors. External factors include the physical environment, including your job, your relationships with others, your home, and all the situations, challenges, difficulties, and expectations you're confronted with on a daily basis. Internal factors determine your body's ability to respond to, and deal with, the external stress-inducing factors. Internal factors which influence your ability to handle stress include your nutritional status, overall health and fitness levels, emotional well-being, and the amount of sleep and rest you get".

Now that we have a basic understanding of this overly used household term, which most of us actually misunderstand; would we consider stress as a formidable factor that make our lives more fleeting or a driving force that motivates us to better adapt and better react to the forces that cause us distress?

I think I might have an idea and I want to share them with you.
